calculate your BMI

what is BMI?

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a numerical value that represents an individual's body weight in relation to their height. It is calculated by dividing a person's weight in kilograms by their height in meters squared (kg/m²). Based on the calculated BMI, individuals can fall into different categories:

Underweight: BMI below 18.5
Normal weight: BMI between 18.5 and 24.9
Overweight: BMI between 25 and 29.9
Obese: BMI of 30 or higher

purpose

BMI is used as a general screening tool to assess whether a person has a healthy weight for their height. It can help identify potential health risks associated with being underweight, overweight, or obese. Although BMI is a helpful guide, it does not account for factors like muscle mass or body composition, so it's important to consider other health indicators and seek professional advice for a complete assessment.
